The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) is the world's non-profit association of aquatic Lifesavers and aquatic Lifesaving organizations.

The International Life Saving Federation of Europe (ILSE) is the European branch of ILS. ILSE is an umbrella organisation, representing federations working in the field of Water Safety in Europe. Our members are representing more than 5 millions of Lifesavers and Lifeguards all over Europe. If you need specific information about Lifesaving in a particular nation, please contact our members or refer to the relevant website.

Through our own work and that of our member federations, we lead the global effort to reduce injury and death in, on or around the water. We aid in the global exchange of lifesaving information, promote the best lifesaving practices, help to establish lifesaving organizations in areas of Europe where they are needed, act as the European federation for lifesaving sport and work with other international bodies with similar goals.

Successful ILSE Commission Meeting in Stratford upon Avon

The annual meetings of ILSE Education, Rescue, Sport and Management and Administration Commissions took place connected with EU Partnership Seminar 2nd project from 16th – 19th January 2014 in Stratford upon Avon, United Kingdom. RLSS UK arranged a perfect set-up in Shakespeare’s Stratford and got an outstanding feed-back for its hospitality. 65 Commission Members and participants at the EU Partnership Seminar of 17 ILSE Member Associations were present to discuss lifesaving topics according to the agendas in a very friendly and constructive atmosphere.

Main results of the ILSE Discussion Forum "Future of Lifesaving Sport in Europe"

The ILSE Discussion Forum "Future of Lifesaving Sport in Europe" took place on Thursday, 21st November 2013, in Warendorf/Germany. 50 athletes, team managers, coaches, referees, organisers, CEOs and ILSE Board Members of 10 ILSE Member Federations met in a very friendly atmosphere to discuss the future of lifesaving sport in Europe.

German Youth Team wins European Championships for Juniors in Riccione

After four years of Italian supremacy in ther Overall ranking Germany breaks this wake of victories winning the Championship with an excellent Ocean Day of competition. The spectators could see two days of very high Level competitions. Five European records for Juniors were broken.
