The Sports Commission was hosting two Webinars around the new rulebook. The recording can be found here.
The main goal of this webinars were to support information on the ILS rules and regulations, mentioned in the ILS rulebook edition 2025 are clear and well documented. However, their interpretation may vary depending on each Chief Referee during European competitions, which can lead to inconsistencies in application.
To minimize misunderstandings and avoid unnecessary disqualifications of athletes at the upcoming World Championships in South Africa, the ILSE Sport Commission in conjunction with the ILSE College of Referees did organize two identical webinars to review the regulations in detail, discuss potential areas of differing interpretation, and explain possible challenges that athletes and Team Managers may encounter.
This initiative aims to promote a consistent understanding and fair implementation of the rules.
Both Chief Referees (pool and ocean) for the upcoming European Youth Lifesaving Championships will participate in these webinars.
