Italy best team at European Championships for Juniors 2011 in Copenhagen

“…The European Junior Lifesaving Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark was a tremendous success. The host federation – Danish Swimming in cooperation with Sport Event Denmark, Surf Lifesaving Denmark, Team Bade and Wonderful Copenhagen held a most effective, professional and welcoming competition, which ran without fault or complaint from any participant or official…” reported Frank Nolan, ILSE Senior Vice President.

The overall winners of the EJC 2011 Denmark was the Italian Team before Spain and Germany.

This was the biggest European Junior Lifesaving Championship held to date with 15 federation’s teams taking part and a total of 145 competitors. The total results are as follow:

A special tribute and “thank you” to the President – Mr. Kaj Aagaard of the Danish Swimming Federation and the Director – Ms. Pia Holmen, whose volunteers and staff were outstanding in carrying out their responsibilities with regard to the total organisation of the EJC 2011.
