Dr. Detlev Mohr took the occasion of EC 2015 to award two long-standing supporters of ILSE in the field of lifesaving sport.
He awarded Vice President John Martin and Chair of ILSE Sport Commission Bob Dekkers the title of Ambassadors of the European Order of Lifesaving for more than 15 years of distinguished voluntary service to lifesaving in Europe.
Vice President John Martin (Surf Life Saving Great Britain SLSGB) was Member of ILSE Board of Directors since the foundation of ILSE in 1994. He was elected Vice President in 2012. At the same time he was Member or Secretary of the ILSE Sport Commission and is responsible for the updates of the ILSE Competition Rulebook.
Bob Dekkers (Reddingsbrigade Nederland KNBRD) was elected Chair of ILSE Sport Commission since 2006. Previously he was a Member of the Sport Commission since 1996. At many World and European Championships he officiated as Chief Referee.
ILSE President thanked both for their greatly work in the field of Water Safety in Europe.
